Preparing for My Little Man's Big Day

A week after Ate's birthday would be Allson Lorenzo's. My boy is turning three and his mom is now busy preparing for his day.

The initial plan was to celebrate his birthday at school. But my little boy is not coming in to class for the last 2 1/2 months now, and I think his classmates don't know him anymore. So we'd rather do it at home. Hehe... We'll have a simple thanksgiving with the family and a few close friends.

And since this little man is so much into Cars, we'll make it a Cars themed celebration. Here's my peg for his cake:

Kahit ano jan. Basta Cars, I'm sure he'll love it.

I have Ninang Lia to sponsor some chicken and mom's friend, tita cora and lani, 2 large trays of maja blanca :)

I had a morning trip to Divisoria to buy some cute back packs (@28ea)* and coloring books (@8ea). I got Cars for the boys and Hello Kitty for the girls.

Candies, lollies, gum, marshmallows, and corn puffs too, too:

For the loot bags (backpacks, coloring books, crayons, straw cups, and candies), I spent 1094 peso powers. Just enough for 20kids. :) I also have some boxes of Alaska 3-4-5 to give out. I got them free from Alaska. :D

As usual, I have a strict budgetary guideline for this. I'll hope for the best. Ajah!

Loreen Allison Turns 6!

I asked Aton how she wanted to celebrate her birthday. She said, she wants to check in at La Traviesa so she and her siblings could enjoy a small celebration and a swimming spree.

So I have set a strict budget plan for this simple birthday celebration.

I bought a voucher from LivingSocialPH. The voucher covered our overnight accommodation, breakfast for 2, and use of facilities. I got her a Red Ribbon Jr. Dedication cake, cooked some pasta and cocktail hotdogs, and bought a roasted chicken from Sr. Pedro. That's how kuripot this mommy is. Hehe...

Here's a sneak peek of our room:

And Aton's handa:

This is our second visit at La Traviesa. Yung totoo, I enjoyed the first visit more. But my mom says, this staycation was better. Probably because she wasn't hassled at the admin. I was a little disappointed lang that they forgot to serve breakfast for the additional head we paid for, and that their POS disn't work for my Mastercard (good thing I always bring cash, pano na lang kung wala), and that the bathroom had some issues (will post pictures soon).

Generally, we enjoyed the getaway, of course, since I am spending time with the kids. Let me share glimpses of Aton's pre-birthday celebration...

On the 31st, after all the Trick-or-Treating, we also had a birthday lunch at Pizza Hut. We shared a Feast for 4, and were all satisfied.

She had a tiny blow cake:

And Pizza Hut gave her a Birthday Sundae for free!

I still can't imagine how time flies so fast. Parang kelan lang, my little aton was just a baby, and now, she's 6 na! May you continue to be thoughtful, pretty and witty, Ate Aton. God-fearing and responsible. And I hope you will continue to value and love your family. Mommy loves you so much. I hope I can make up for any shortcomings I've had, baby. Kahit tayo-tayo lang, I hope you'll still feel that we are one whole family. I LOVE YOU, dear! :)

Word for the Day

I asked if we could switch seats. Kasi namimitig na legs ko. Then he said, that's a phenomenon you call, "denervation". Wow, big word!

I am still learning from you, baby. Though we seldom see each other lately.

Sheeesh, i already miss you :(

No More Petsa De Peligro for Me!

It's the 9th. Two more nights, and it's payday. Eons ago, when my soon to be spouse was still living with us, i would already see signs of poverty and/or zero balance by this time. Sometimes, when it's worse, the signs are already present the very next day after my payday. With all the bills that are due, loan payments, groceries to cover our kids' nappies and milk... My salary is already gone even before it reaches my pocket. LOL

No matter how i carefully track our expenses and liquidate all cash outs, I would always come up with either a negative or zero balance.

But that's history! Hehe...

At present, I am working for only one family, at last. My family. That is-- my three kids, and my mohmmee. Mom acts like my better half now. :) So my salary from my regular job takes care of the grocery, allowance and bills. And the rakets take care of the savings/ a.ka. emergency funds.

I always make healthy alternatives to maintain a frugal living. You can't expect me to buy anything expensive. Alam nyo yan!

My Birthday 2013

I have recently turned ===toot tooot===! Lol

I have celebrated this with my loved ones. Ngayon na lang uli ako nag-celebrate ng birthday na totoong, honest to goodness, super happy puso!

06/28. Visited Alabang with Mom and the kids.  My plan was to have our lunch at Cravings in Molito but the kids (and my mother dear) insisted on eating at Jollibee.

Then we visited Tita Lia @ SummerPointe.

Then off to The District for Metro's opening.

Wala naman. We just did our usual grocer stuff then uwi na din. It was not a good idea pala doing your grocery on the supermarket's opening. All aisles are crowded and it was super queueing at the counter. Binusog ko na lang eyes ko sa mga delights ng Suisse Cottage:

And while Mom was on queue at the counter, Aton had a photo op with Virginia Hotdog's mascot:

Anika was not on mood for the op. She was tired na kase. Kaya ayan..
06/29. A Visit to Tita Ginny's

 06/30. A Dinner with a good friend. :)

Gaya ng nabanggit ko kanina, this was one of the bestest birthdays I have ever had. I am blessed with a wonderful family, and a lot of good friends. At never Nya talaga akong pinabayaan.

Picnic at the Park

There's nothing more enjoyable than spending a bright sunny afternoon with your loved ones. Who cares if mommy didn't have the budget to splurge for a day out. A visit to tita ginny's will do the trick!

It was an afternoon well spent with my kids, and my bff's family. :) Thanks again tita ginny, for a heft merienda and a fantabulous trip picnic at the park.

Xoxo,
